Information for authors

The language of the journal is English. Manuscripts for publication should not exceed 20 printed pages in length and should be submitted by e-mail in the form of a PDF file, or by post in two hard-copies. Upon receipt, the paper is sent to reviewers. Their opinion constitutes a basis for the decision of the Editorial Committee to publish (or not) the paper.

The style of the manuscript should follow the recent articles printed in Archives of Mechanics and available online. Of special importance are the following directions:

  • The title of the paper should be as short as possible.

  • The text should be preceded by a brief abstract of about 100 words.

  • Several key words should be provided just below the abstract.

  • Formulas should be numbered using two digits: the first represents the section number and the other the formula number in that section.

  • References in the text of the paper should be given by Arabic numerals in square brackets. Items appearing in the reference list at the end of the manuscript should include the initials of the first name(s) of the author and his/her surname, and then the full title of the paper (in the original language of the paper and in English). These should be followed by: for book's - the publisher's name, and the place and year of publication; for periodicals - the full title of the periodical, volume number (in bold face or underlined), issue number (when needed), page number, and the year of publication.

  • Figures should be provided as camera-ready originals.

  • The electronic source files of the whole manuscript are required, with separate files for the figures. The source files can be provided when submitting the manuscript, and at the latest immediately upon its acceptance for publication.

  • The electronic source files of the manuscript can be sent by e-mail or alternatively mailed on a CD or DVD disk, or a 3.5” diskette. The preferable format for the text is TeX or LaTeX while MS Word is also acceptable. Separate files for the figures should be provided in one of the following formats: BMP, TIFF, JPEG, PDF, EPS or PostScript.

  • Twenty-five reprints will be supplied free of charge. Additional reprints or copies of the issue may be ordered through the Editorial Office not later than when returning the corrected proofs.
